The Tauplitz is the largest lake high plateau in Central Europe --------------------------------------------------------------- The Tauplitzalm is located in the heart of Austria, in the **Ausseerland Salzkammergut**, and is at 1,650 meters the **highest lake high plateau in Central Europe**. It offers ideal conditions for **mountaineering and enjoying nature**: well-developed hiking routes along six picturesque lakes, the [Gamsblick via ferrata](https://www.steiermark.com/de/Ausseerland-Salzkammergut/Urlaub-planen/Touren/Klettersteig-Gamsblick_tour_1430850) for adventure seekers, challenging mountain tours for experienced climbers, as well as cozy walking paths for relaxed outings. The **eco-friendly ascent** with the 4-seater chairlift ensures a comfortable entry into the natural experience. The plateau impresses with its wide panorama, clear mountain air, and a sense of freedom. Surrounded by blooming alpine meadows, where depending on the season **gentian, alpine rose, globe flowers, stone carnations, or sneezeweed** can be found. In autumn, golden larch slopes bathe the landscape in warm light.
