In front of the mountain of the Hinterbergtal, the **Grimming** (2,351 meters high), is the **Kulm**, where the **largest natural ski jump** in the world is located. The word "KULM" has Celtic origins and means "forested mountain".

The Kulm ski flying hill was built in 1950 and was jumped by, among others, **Hubert Neuper senior**. Since 1953, **international World Cup events** have repeatedly taken place.

On September 2, 2004, the official groundbreaking took place to modernize the ski flying hill at Kulm. The first renovation works involved the new **double chairlift**, which primarily supports the athletes as an ascent aid.

During the FIS Ski Flying World Championships in 2006, the new start house located directly above the take-off ramp proved itself for the first time as a waiting room and snack bar for the ski flyers.

**Technical Data:**
Take-off length: 123 meters
Take-off angle: 35°
Height difference: 197 meters
Height of the table: 4.6 meters
Take-off slope: 30.5° to 37.5°
Hill record: 245.5 meters (Domen Prevc)
Wind net: 4000 m²
Hill size: 225 meters
K-point: 200 meters

**List of Kulm winners:**

2024 Stefan Kraft (AUT) 228 meters (Ski Flying World Champion)
2026 Domen Prevc (SLO) 245.5 meters (new hill record)

The ski flying hill is also an interesting and popular destination during the summer months. Due to its worldwide fame, the Kulm is a special attraction for many visitors and travel groups.

With the support of the municipality of Bad Mitterndorf and in cooperation with the Kulm organizing office, one of the most modern ski flying facilities has been complemented with several **display and information boards**. The many interested tourists, cyclists, mountain bikers, Nordic walkers, guests, and locals are not only presented with the **50-year history up to the present**, but also the **last winners** and the **technical data of the hill** is vividly illustrated.

To also give guests and families the opportunity to take a break at the ski flying hill, **a snack bar with drinks, snacks, and restroom facilities** complements the offer.
