One of the most beautiful high alpine pastures in the Salzkammergut, **the Tauplitzalm**, is located at about 1,650 meters above sea level. Three of the six mountain lakes can be visited during the approximately one-hour **scenic train ride**, offering a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. (Dead Mountains, Grimming, Dachstein, Stoderzinken, Schladminger Tauern, Gesäuse,...). After a thirty-minute ride, there is a stop at the [Steirerseebankerl](https://www.steiermark.com/de/Ausseerland-Salzkammergut/Urlaub-planen/Touren/Familienfreundliche-Wanderung-zum-Steirerseebankerl_tour_1430797) to enjoy the enchanting view over the **Steirersee** and the **Sturzhahn**. The **unique variety of flowers** is particularly fascinating. From early to mid-July (depending on weather conditions), the **almrose blossom** can be admired. From mid-June to early/mid-September, the young cattle enjoy the alpine summer at the Tauplitzalm.
