The Attersee-Attergau holiday region has a lot to offer for climbing and bouldering: A brand new indoor bouldering hall in the Attergauer Freizeithalle "Freizi" in St. Georgen im Attergau, the Hochseilgarten Attersee in Seewalchen and the outdoor climbing tower in Unterach. For experienced climbers, the Höllengebirge offers a variety of climbing routes with different degrees of difficulty and the very challenging Attersee via ferrata Mahdlgupf - one of the many via ferrata routes in the Salzkammergut. The Adlerspitze and the bouldering area Forstamt in Steinbach are also very popular. For more adventure, try canyoning in the Gimbach cascades or in the Burggrabenklamm gorge.

Since October 2019, visitors to the "Freizi" can look forward to an extensive range of climbing activities, including bouldering and climbing courses: the artificial climbing facility offers around 60 to 80 climbing routes on an area of 350 m². Those who love the transition are in good hands in the bouldering area: Here, 80 to 100 bouldering routes are spread over 350 m². On a total area of 700 m², you can also choose the level of difficulty from 3 to 10.


This deeply cut gorge is the optimal entry tour for those who want to experience a mix of abseiling,
sliding and jumping. The minimum age for participation in this tour is 12 years.Normally this tour takes 2
to 3 hours for the descent through the gorge. A group consists of up to 7 people.
There is also a long version, which is ideal for sporty beginners. The minimum age for participation in the
XL tour is 12 years.



When Mrs. Holle shakes out her pillows, than is deepest winter in the cross-country village of Faistenau and the snow stays until the end of March, to the beginning of April. Connoisseurs and professionals appreciate the cross-country skiing village and that you can do cross country-country skiing with spring temperatures. With its 60 kilometers of trails, not only because of the floodlit trail, but also because of the perfect infrastructure directly at the trail entrance with showers, changing rooms, parking spaces, toilets, ski rental & a room for ski preparation.

Faistenau and the five other villages of in the Fuschlsee holiday region have a well-maintained network of trails that inspire cross-country skiers in both skating and classic styles. In the Competence Center Faistenau, you can also try the trend sport of biathlon. In both sports courses and workshops for children and adults are offered, which can also be booked on a daily basis. Since 2017, there has also been a combination ticket for the cross-country network in Faistenau and Hintersee and the skating trail has been expanded into the Tiefbrunnau valley.

A new project called „aufDraht“ is initiated by the non-profit cultural association named “Kulturverein K.U.L.T.” which is located in the village of Hof bei Salzburg. The idea of this project is to provide musicians and their self-composed music. A Jury will decide which of the submitted compositions are gonna be recorded professionally. The result of each recording is a musicvideo which will be published on social media such as the channels of the cultural association and those of the musicians. The presentation of the final result is happening at the event called “Jam-Session” which also was developed by the “Kulturverein K.U.L.T.”.

The entire region around the two lakes Mondsee and Irrsee has a small mosaic of different habitats that offer shelter for many rare animal species. From the moor meadows around the Irrsee to the wooded flysch slopes, the orchards of agriculture to the rugged cliffs of the northern Limestone Alps, there are opportunities to make special observations and really immerse yourself in nature. As soon as it is possible again, our forest educators and hiking guides will finally have the opportunity to bring guests and locals closer to our wonderful habitat. They will introduce guests and locals to the most panoramic peaks of the region, such as Schafberg or Almkogel, from which you can enjoy fantastic views of the two Salzkammergut lakes.
