The inn

In the middle of the beautiful **landscape of the Salzkammergut** with a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains. Close enough to all the possibilities that the Gosau valley offers and far enough away to have an **unforgettable nature experience**.
In addition to our **personal service** and **regional cuisine**, guests have many opportunities to explore the village of Gosau and the entire Dachstein region. From **hiking** to **climbing** and **mountain biking**, we are an ideal starting point. In summer you can also use our **Pit Pat facility** free of charge. The **green set tennis court**, the **playground**, the **infrared cabin** and the **sauna** are of course also available.
The rooms in our inn are equipped with **modern comforts** and you can enjoy the wonderful view from the balcony. A sunny winter garden invites you to linger and in the **cozy Zirbenstube** it is particularly cozy.

Motorway exit Regau - Gmunden, Bad Ischl, Bad Goisern, Gosau
Gosau: at the Pass Gschütt junction, drive straight ahead onto the Gosausee Landstraße, then after approx. 5 km you will reach the car park at Gasthof Gosauschmied
**From Vienna/Graz:**
Motorway exit Liezen onto B320, in Trautenfels turn onto Salzkammergut Straße B145 to Bad Aussee, turn onto Koppenstraße through Obertraun and Hallstatt, at the Gosaumühle junction turn left towards Gosau
Gosau: at the Pass Gschütt junction drive straight ahead onto Gosausee Landstraße, then after approx. 5 km you will reach the car park at Gasthof Gosauschmied
**From Villach:**
Tauern motorway to exit "Eben im Pongau", via B166 Pass Gschütt Bundesstraße to Gosau
Gosau: turn right after the Pass Gschütt junction onto the Gosausee Landstraße, after approx. 5 km you will reach the car park at Gasthof Gosauschmied.
**By train**
Train route Attnang-Puchheim - Stainach-Irdning
Arrival by train in "Steeg / Gosau" then continue by bus 541/542 towards Lake Gosau
**By bus (irregular on Sundays):**
Bus 470 (Abtenau - Gosau) towards Gosau, bus stop Gosau Abzw. Pass Gschütt change to the bus in the direction of Gosausee, at the bus stop "Hintertal b. Gosau Schmiedweg" bus stop. The inn is on the right-hand side.
Bus 541/542 (Bad Ischl - Gosausee) direction Gosausee, bus stop: Hintertal b. Gosau Schmiedweg, the inn is on the right-hand side.

### **320 years 1697 - 2017**
It is not the Winterauers, the Tiefenbachers or the Pombergers who have written the history of this house. Anyone who can look back on 300 years of tradition and also trace the family ties of this family in Gosau, Bad Goisern, even as far as Schladming and beyond, must recognize that this house is very closely linked to Austrian history and the historical conditions of the Salzkammergut. The traces of the respective owners are still quite clearly recognizable; - the arrangement and size of the 3 individual buildings correspond exactly to the leap through 3 centuries and are thus a mirror of events and generations.
Since 2011 I, Anna Winterauer, have taken over the business from my father under my mother and try to continue to run it in the best possible way.
