Escape everyday life and enjoy the most peaceful time of the year at small, charming Advent markets. Discover the magic of our idyllic region, where for over 30 years the contemplative Advent has been taking place around the ‘Guggenthaler Kircherl’ just outside the gates of the city of Salzburg. Away from the hustle and bustle of the big city, a relaxed pre-Christmas atmosphere awaits you here. Not far away, in the village of Faistenau, the ‘Advent under the Linden Tree’ takes place – a place of magic. Under the 1000-year-old linden tree, you become part of a living nativity scene, while cauldrons and fire pits bathe the village square in a romantic light. Get into the Christmas spirit at the Fuschl Advent market ‘Klein und Fein’ (Small and Fine) with handcrafted treasures, warming mulled wine and the scent of incense. Part of the proceeds go to charity. Every Friday from 4 p.m., romantic carriage rides invite you to enjoy the season. You can reach the enchanting winter market at Rosewood Schloss Fuschl with a romantic boat trip across Lake Fuschl on Advent weekends. Contemplation, lights and special scents promise a harmonious experience at the ‘Ebenau Advent Market in the Fountain Garden’, which shines in the glow of countless Christmas trees.
