Some of them hide in the woods around the Salzkammergut lakes. The most famous is named “Nixenfall” (cascade of the mermaid) and is reachable via a short hiking tour near the Attersee lake. Also the waterfall in Kreuzstein at Mondsee lake is worth a visit not only for nature lovers.
