Mountain biking in the Salzkammergut

Mountain biking suits the Salzkammergut as the hat to leather pants. More and more often, the nature-loving locals throw themselves in the sporty bike dress to forget everyday life on a mountain bike tour.

Unsurprisingly that more and more friends of cycling are visiting the Salzkammergut due to its large selection of mountain bike trails, after all, there are now over 60 different routes available!

If you are looking for that special something or the icing on the cake, then of course you will also find something in the Salzkammergut. In addition to all forest roads, singletrack and downhill, there is the Salzkammergut Mountainbike center, which ensures the perfect all-round offer!

To enumerate all the highlights individually would be exaggerated at this point, but we can certainly put three incomparable offers in the shop window:

Downhill track Feuerkogel

If you're looking for an adrenalin kick, you'll find it with 100% certainty at the Feuerkogel in the Traunsee region. 1,600 vertical meters and 5.6 kilometers are the keywords that describe this experience of a mountain bike downhill track pinpoint. Upwards it goes with the Feuerkogel cable car, which carries all Downhill fans in the summer months to the entrance of the Downhill track. After the successful departure is incidentally a free bike wash facility available!

Tauplitz alpine road

A taste for all those who like to go downhill but also like to avoid the effort of the ascent, is the free bike transport with the 4-seater chairlift from Tauplitz. The Tauplitzalm is the largest lake plateau in Europe and offers a unique mountain panorama. After a leisurely stop at the hut, the descent over the 9-kilometer-long alpine road is about to begin.

Eternal wall in Bad Goisern

Every year in July, more than 4,000 mountain bikers enjoy the view from the Eternal Wall down into the Goiserer Valley. This section of the Salzkammergut Mountain Bike Trophy is not only open to this event, but can be visited all year round with or without a mountain bike. It is part of several route variants, for example, leads the World Cup route, the Kaiser Tour or the Raschbergrunde through the Eternal Wall.
