Enjoy the atmosphere – that is a perfect motto for Advent time in the Ausseerland area that is steeped in tradition.
The events’ calendar is filled with contemplative programmes – in churches or at the lake.
Visitors of the Ausseerland – Salzkammergut region can feel the peace that is innate to the scenery all through the year.

Especially in the Advent: no hustle and bustle, no noisy “jingle bells”. Traditions and customs dominate and that is what makes Advent time there so special. The people and the country are authentic.

The traditional St. Nicholas plays in Bad Mitterndorf, Pichl-Kainisch and Tauplitz on 5 December are especially worthwhile (the play of the death of the poor man), so is the contemplative Advent event “Die stade Zeit” with Caroline Koller at Kurhaus Bad Aussee on 17 December.
