The traditional Bad Goisern "Heimatmuseum" was constructed in 1981. This was a project developed by the local folk group. Originally the building was a store room belonging to the local mill.
More recently, the building was renovated and re-designed as a museum, with financial support from the local and Upper Austrian authorities. In 1992 the building was extended further and converted into the "Landlermuseum".
