Experience the fascination of glass, the beauty of nature and the history of a village…theme trail in Weißenkirchen im Attergau

How often do we want to spend an unforgettable day in the outdoors together with our family that is exciting and varied at the same time, without too much fuss.

It has taken more than two years to plan this incomparable project.
The history of the village of Freudenthal and the hustle and bustle near the former glassworks is closely connected to the village of Weißenkirchen. Still today many tales on this village and its former inhabitants are told. Still today children look for green glass stones that tell of the glass production of past times.

The inhabitants of Weißenkirchen have now revived these stories and the village of Freudenthal in a special way. A theme trail dealing with the fascinating material glass has been set up. At stations and playing devices the history of the Freudenthal glass works is told in an exceptional way.

Starting from the Weißenkirchen glass museum a fascinating hike through beautiful nature leads to Freudenthal. The trail is some 2.5km long and is sectioned in six different subject areas. It leads into the show village of Freudenthal.
Relax and unwind and explore the stations along the trail. You and your children can learn in a playful way all about glass and the history of the village of Freudenthal.
