Gasthof Jagersimmerl

At “Jagersimmerl” in the Almtal valley you can expect peace, cosiness and culinary delights.

Almtal valley is special. It is one of the last retreats of the Alps. Here visitors still find unique, natural river countries and one of the last European breeding grounds of the Northern Bald Ibis. “Jagersimmerl” guesthouse is located in this fantastic landscape near Lake Almsee.

Already the imperial hunter Simon = (Simmerl) enjoyed culinary delights at this guesthouse. Today regional culinary delights and drinks are served in the homey parlours with tiled stove. Friends of good cuisine will feel at home at “Jagersimmerl” guesthouse.

Smoked venison ham with elder-apple puree, roast filet of catfish on garlic risotto or lamb cutlets in rosemary juice with speck beans and polenta ring cake are just a few examples of the culinary delights awaiting guests. The meat for the game dishes comes from the guesthouse’s private hunting. Recipes of the chef Andrea Bergbaur are to be found in the cooking book: “Die oberösterreichische Küche” (Upper Austrian Cuisine) by Ingrid Pernkopf and Christoph Wagner. And if you don’t fancy going home after a long meal you can stay in the spacious junior suites at “Jagersimmel” guesthouse.
