We start in Ebensee at Rathausplatz square and follow the sign in direction Rindbach/Gasselhöhle. In the district of Rindbach we pass the shooting range and continue to Rindbach waterfall, which we bypass in a steep bend. The forestry trail that has been carved into the valley side of Rindbach brook runs slightly ascending through gorge-like narrowings (e.g. Zwercheckklamm gorge just before the fork to Gassel Stalactite Cave).

At Bachlbrücke bridge our route takes a right turn into south, if we continue straight we can make a detour to the wild romantic Rindbachklause chasm (2km uphill) and at the left tempts the additional variant to Gasselhöhle cave (May 1 – Sep 14 on weekends and public holidays) to get later to the nice vantage point near Spitzlsteinalm pasture (another 9km from Bachlbrücke bridge). Starting from the bridge a steeper section along hiking trail no. 422 starts; it leads to Jagdhaus Fahrnau hunting lodge, the highest point of our tour (824m)

After a 500m-long downhill section we have to continue across a small path (walking section) to get to the junction to Höllgrabenstraße road. We take a left turn and take the first right at the next junction to get to the location route of the former Waldbahn train leading to Offensee Lake. Now we can continue slowly (please show consideration for the many walkers) around Offensee Lake, which invites to a refreshing bath.

Past a snack station we get to Restaurant Offensee at the right side of the lake and eventually to the asphalt-covered Offensee district road, which leads slightly downhill to Dielleiten and past the power plant into Trauntal valley. We cross the B 145 railroad bed and Traun River and take a right turn into Langwieserstraße road, which brings us back to the starting point in Ebensee.
