Diving in Gosausee

Gosausee is a tiny mountain lake with very refreshing, crystal-clear waters. Towered by mighty Dachstein Peak, this is one the Salzkammergut’s favorite photo spots. The Lake is at its clearest in the fall before the first snowfalls of the season.

The Facts

Diving places: DIVING ZONES:

Klacklboden Meadow: From the western end of the reservoir wall in the so-called „Klacklboden“ area to „Großer Stein“ (a giant rock on the shore 150 meters away). A path winds down to the spot and to the meadow between Gosausee Inn and Gosaukammbahn (approx. 150m walk).
Bootshütte to Bärnkogel: The eastern shore at so-called „Bärntal“ between the boathouses and the Bärnkogel rockface. The diving site is within easy walking distance (350m). Diving Zone No. 1 is recommended on days when the lake is filled with swimmers.

Diving: Year-round 09:00 am to 4:00 pm
(summertime 09:00 am to 7:00 pm)

PLEASE NOTE: You are strongly recommended to park your car one a public car park!!! Diving is prohibited in the reservoir wall area at Gosausee Inn and at the landing stage!
