Diving in Traunsee

Located in the wildly romantic setting of Traunstein-
Erlakogel-Sonnsteinmassiv, the Traunsee, being the deepest of the Salzkammergut lakes, is a true haven for the practiced diver. Whether it be the fascinating steep rock faces of the south and east banks or the flat terraces deposited with sediment in the northern part of the lake – partly even deposited with fresh water fungi – it is quite simply a fascinating stretch of water, which however, due to the very predominant steep falling walls, can only be recommended to practiced and safe divers.

Diving in Gosausee

Gosausee is a tiny mountain lake with very refreshing, crystal-clear waters. Towered by mighty Dachstein Peak, this is one the Salzkammergut’s favorite photo spots. The Lake is at its clearest in the fall before the first snowfalls of the season.

Diving in Wolfgangsee

The depth increases from west to east, the deepest point (114 m) lies south of Sappl. The water is of drinking quality. Visibility is good: in the flat areas from five to ten meters. Underneath sits a layer of cloud where visibility is at only one to two meters, from 15 m the water is clear again, but a torch is needed. Lush vegetation in up to six meters depth.
