Bathing facilities at the Lake Hallstättersee

There are numerous wonderful bathing facilities all around Lake Hallstatt.

There are many delightful, lush green open spaces scattered around Lake Hallstatt which are clean and safe and ideal for sun lovers. With plenty of trees to provide some shade, our lakeside bathing facilities have buffets, and some have changing facilities and children's playgrounds.

Untersee Bathing Area
Free of charge, separate naturists' bathing area, boat landing, shower, large grassed sunbathing area, car park, buffet, children's play area, running water, trampoline.

Gosaumühle Lakeside Bathing Area
Free of charge, large grassed sunbathing area, buffet, car park

"Island" in Lake Hallstatt
Free entry. Playground, toilet facilities, changing facilities, large grassed sunbathing area. Easy access.

Oudoor swimming in Winkl
Large grassed sunbathing area with adjoining, enclosed naturists' bathing area. Free of charge. Free car parking, showers, tables and benches by the lake shore.

Obertraun Lakeside Bathing Area
Large, maintained grassed sunbathing area on the southern shore of Lake Hallstatt. Easy access to car park (free of charge). Buffet service (Frau Held: Tel 06131/492). Slide, barbecue facilities, beach volleyball facilities, children's play area and showers.

Kessel Recreation Area
Free of charge. Play area, toilet facilities, easy access, large grassed sunbathing area.

Swimming at Lake Gosau
Plenty of level ground with direct access to the lake.

Prices & Opening Times:
Free entry to all our lakeside bathing areas. Opening times dependant on the weather.

Lake Gosau
This small mountain lake is protected by a nature preservation order. The cold, crystal clear water is perfectly safe to drink, and provides perfect living conditions for numerous species of fish.

Opening times:
May to September daily from 9.00 -19.00
Open only from 9.00 - 10.00 if the weather is bad
Day pass: 4.50 Euros
